1.9d versus Hdi
#1
Well, my Berlingo has been declared, as expected a total loss. Sad Now I have to find another vehicle pretty sharpish. I am weighing up the options. Can I ask, is there a heap of difference between the 1.9d and the hdi?
I found this near me http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-Citroen-B...3ccbbb5b41 any thoughts? I know it is a lil old but so was mine, although this is 1 year older and higher mileage but maybe the Hdi makes up for that.

The difference is like night and day.

Having driven both, and owned a 2.0hdi for the last 6 years, I feel I am qualified to answer. The hdi is more fuel efficient and far, far quicker.

The one you linked to looks very tidy, don't let the mileage put you off, my 52 plate is at 140k, and its never let me down in 6 years.

I agree with Steve, if you ever go on motorways get a HDI! The 1.9d plods well enough, I have owned mine for ten years now, but have driven all Berlingo's with work and I like the 2.0 HDI the best. FSH is a big bonus with the one you are watchin too.... they go on for ages...

The 2.0HDi in the pic looks tidy enough but I would still want to
see a full(ish) service history.
That seller is a trader and thus you have some protection from the Sale of Goods Act and Trades Descriptions legislation.

I've got the 1.9 and, although I like it, it is woefully slow. Steep hills especially with a full load of adults can see you plodding up with the lorries.
