What alloy wheel size 15* or 16*
#1
Ok guys after a stroll round alloy wheel shops have been advised to opt for 16* wheels as 17's would be a bit much under the blingo's arches anybody fitted 17's ? Have read that 15's look to small on them.
And after a day going round Glasgows alloy shops am left with the choice of 3 alloy brands "dotz mugello" which look like a really nice wheel or axia stella is the cheaper option at £275 cheaper than the "dotz"
And to finish off been told if 16's go on tyre size would be 195/55/16 yet think i read it would be 195/45/16 anybody any knowledge of this ???[/size]

17's look good on Berlingo's IMO. Granted lowering would help prevent the "mini 4x4" stance as kindly demonstrated by my old bus when I had the old wheels on it!

15's would look lost on a standard Berlingo though, you'd need to go low to pull them off! 16's would look nice but I've heard tyres can be expensive for them. The Dotz look nice BTW Smile

Ye liking the Dotz myself is that 17's on yours ??
Tho they are pricey are the blingo vans different from the multi space??
Was thinking the 16's and if they still look small going the lower springs road was hoping for a bit more choice on the wheel front bit miffed that it only the pick between the 3 wheels :0/

I have 15 " as wanted standard size, had 17" on my T4 camper vw and it ate tyres, did a hell of a lot of reaearch on them and with tyre manufacturers themselves and conclusuion was....van was designed for 15 / 16 inch so 17 and above will eat tyres, regardless of how geometry is set up. cost me fortune. every 4 months new set of tyres , doing 1000 miles a month. So 15`s were fitted to mk3, however initially i used supplied tyres, however next time [ 25k, now] I will fit a much taller tyre and knobbly to get a better more rugged look. The same look vw 4x4`s have.

Utter bullhonky I'm afraid. Your van doesn't 'know' what size wheels it's wearing. As long as the suspension and steering is correctly aligned, and the tyres are rated for the weight and speed of the vehicle, there is no reason for tyres to wear prematurely.

The most common issue with T4 and T5 owners is they run car wheels with car-rated tyres, as correctly weight-rated van tyres are not commonly found in the profile or width desired.
