I've found that 306 GTi brakes would be a good upgrade but I've found a pair of 206 GTi 180 (2004) front discs, calliper's and pads for less than a £100. I know I'll need bigger wheels, but before I buy them will they fit?!

206 GTi 180 brakes are the same as the 307 HDi 283mm ones.. It will fit in some 15" wheels

Never turned up mate...still arguing with the seller. Gutted. Might be going down the 306 GTi 6 route now.
