I fitted some rubber doughnut assisters to help with the caravan in a car I had and they did a good job. They don't stiffen the ride when empty like heavier springs. Are you sure it's not the exhaust that's at fault hanging too low ? I would modify that first I think.
So where does this bit go then ?

It's in the garage with Glen the magic torch as I write, taking off the last 3ft of pipe and putting a smaller rear box on along with some new pipework, only solution seemingly, ta for all suggestions.
Spring assisters, not on my watch, experience of them in the 80s, broken springs and crazy handling. I quite liked the scittishness of the Capri, made it fun on country type roads. Like driving a BMW in many ways.
