In the absence of anybody with more knowledge / info then me, and most will know more than me you could start by seeing if the door connectors are fully populated with pins and sockets ( Door side and car side ) ?
Count to see how many harness wires car side there are for both passenger door and drivers door. Count to see how many wires there are door side. if they match there is no harness connection ( assuming all door wires can be seen to go somewhere useful ), if they don't, you may be in luck, but then the car side of the harness may have wires for windows, electric adjust mirror, heated mirror ? etc
( I have't actually visually looked at these connectors inside their covers inside the door / behind A post trim yet so unless others can shed more light it's suck it and see )
Where in UK are you ?
