here's something for you to read Wikipedia link hands free v passenger conversation
And if you don't care for wikipedia then do a search for 'hands free mobile phones and drink driving' It is scientifically accepted using a hands free mobile is as dangerous as drink driving

And don't be too sure how legal using hands free kits are - if you are involved in an accident and you were using one, the CPS will entertain 'due care and attention'. take a look at the following news article LINK

On the subject of gadgets etc, what the hell is the point of a " Twitter " button on TomTom Live SatNavs ?There must be someone messing about with it when driving.-# @
And interestingly, its been mentioned that it is not illegal to use a mobile phone whilst sitting at traffic lights in a Start / Stop equipped car ( when engine is off, obviously ). Confusedcratch:

Utter bullhonky, stop believing eveything you read on the internet. I've never once looked at my phone whilst conducting a hands-free conversation, but its virtually impossible to have a chat with a passenget sat next to you in a car without occasional eye contact.
