Rear floor box on xtr
#1
Hi guy's
Had a berlingo for years, but only just stumbled across you.
I have upgraded from a mk1 to mk3 xtr this week and have had a couple of issues.
One being the rear floor storage box. It was broken and the dealer said he would sort out. Apparently they have plastic welded it, but it has broken already. What is broken is the lip that the lid sits into. The dealer said they can't buy a new box without having to buy the whole floor carpet. This seems a bit strange as the box is a separate item that pulls out.
Does anyone know if this usual dealer bull, or can this be purchased?
I haven't told them yet that it is broken, so want to be suitably armed with the correct info.
Hope you can help.

Did you buy it new? If you did they should be repairing it with a new part regardless of the price.

No not new. 3 year old just out of manufactures warranty.
I've had it three days and the first time the kids got in back it broke again.

I don't think there is much you can do about it. I've got thick rubber mats on my floor I bought them from Citroen they were expensive but worth the money maybe that's why mine havnt broke yet?! It's a common complaint.

I recently bought my first Berlingo Mk3. Like you the rear storage boxes were damaged.:censored: The dealer did replace them and yes it is a complete carpet and box replacement job which they funded. Hope this helps.

I just upgraded from an 03 Desire to 09 XTR and one of the boxes is the same. The dealer agreed to replace the plastic rim then called back to say it's the whole rear carpet. I said 'really, that'll be expensive for you' & he agreed. Parts are on order should be done by this weekend, apparently. There was also a problem with the temp sensor which claimed that yesterday, despite widespread fog, it was 79 Celsius (147 F)! That's also been replaced.

Are you talking about the boxes on the floor in front of the rear passenger seats? I must admit that having read so much about the huge cubby hole capacity of the Berlingo I am a touch disappointed. I was expecting something in the boot but apart from the storage space on the drivers side there does not appear to be anything.

Two cubby holes under front seats-one holds the toolkit, seven-seater model has cubby in boot floor.
There's also the one on top of dash ahead of steering wheel which is useful.

If you just bought the car from the dealer and they agreed to fix the box as part of the deal, then they agreed to fix it. The warranty is neither here nor there. Stand your ground... Is it a Citroen dealer?
