Clutch Switch

Yes you have to get at least 30mph and be in either 4th or 5th gear.

I have CC retro fitted and don't have the limiter

Have a read of this. Confusedalut:
I have read that one before and have tried to engage CC @ 50mph.
I know around 30mph does give problems so I made sure I was fast enough.
I will give it another read tho' and try again. Confusedalut:
I think there are a few mistakes in the text re. what the buttons do? The sequence seems logical, any thoughts on enabling CC without the Limiter? Confusedcratch:
This is on the 1.6HDi with the later BSI and Injection ECU.

I had another read through the pdf and still think there are several bits of misinformation in there. :brickwall:
I have had a go at setting out how I think it works??

.pdf   Operation of Cruise Control.pdf (Size: 205.07 KB / Downloads: 13)
Does this look right?? I still have a few questions tho' ??
Not sure if switching d ON sets the (new) memorised cruise speed or if you do need to operate switch b or c to set (memorise) the cruise speed? Confusedcratch:
 – can anyone who uses one clarify this part of the operation please.
The description in the ‘official instructions’ has some errors in switch identification and/or functionality.

I have also made a few assumptions (just to check the basics please);
1. I assume that as I have a manual gearbox the only CC limitation will be the minimum/maximum levels of engine/vehicle speed thresholds as set in the ECU as there is no feedback of the selected gear, it should work in 4th or 5th (no manual gearbox ECU)?
2. I assume that CC is available on manual Berlingo models? (TD4 Freelander only fits CC to Auto’s)
Not had a chance to try it again today but will report back when I do.

d is to switch the system on or off- the mainswitch of you like - it does not set speeds or anything.

When switched on by d, speed is set by b. Either holding it to accelerate to a set speed or a brief touch will set the speed at which it is touched - CC is now activated.

c or b will then increase or decrease the set speed, they need to be held until the desired speed is reached and then released.

a touch on a will suspend the operation of CC - if you need to slow down - and another touch will resume the previously set speed.

Any touch of the brake or clutch pedal will cancel the CC operation.

Thanks CoCo -- d is on/off then and use b to set speed - ok
If you brake or change gear (clutch) then I assume the CC goes into suspend and then a touch on a will re-engage at the previous setting?
Switching off at d will lose the settings - correct?

If I have now got it straight - and it will work on the manual box, I will have another go when the ice has gone from around here.
Thanks again, Confusedalut:
