1.9D won't start after battery change
#1
I was expecting there to be loads of threads like this, but a search didn't reveal anything which is kinda worrying!

I just changed the battery in my 2004 Berlingo, and now it won't start.

It's the same symptoms as when I tried the 'spare' key recently, it turns over (Much better now!) but does not start.

The genuine Citroen RCL fob still unlocks/locks, but now it will not start the vehicle.

Is there a re-coding sequence?

Thanks for any help!

You probably need to do a BSI reset procedure, have a search on here for it or someone will be along to explain it to you.
Are we there yet????? Huh

Time to hang my head in shame, I forgot to re-connect the seperate lead that is bolted to the positive battery clamp.

Hopefully this may help someone else in future!

Thanks to all who replied. :o)

Hands up who in the days of points and condenser ignition never forgot to replace the rotor arm. It could happen to anyone and you have shared your knowledge to save someone else the possibility of repeating your mistake. Big Grin
So where does this bit go then ?
