The true cost of a new Berlingo
#1
Hi all I am thinking of replacing my 52 plate 1.9d berlingo for a new 1.6HDI airdreamVTR auto, but I am truely astounded by the maze of differing prices being quoted by all and sundry. Why are Citroens ,in particular, so widely discounted, and why would anyone pay full price for any Berlingo with all the discounts availlable.Any info on the best place to get the best discount would not be ignored.
My current Berlingo has just passed 62000 mls but the fuel savings on the newer models make it look like a good time to change.

Take a day, get written quotes from local-ish dealers then play them off against each other.
They dont get complacent but you get a reasonable deal
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

I'd also look at pre-registered and nearly new options. I've just bought a three year old example, however was considering buying new/newer.

No idea where you live, but I considered this car, which is still available. I can recommend this company, have bought 3 cars from them, and of course it will be under warranty... When this new you don't have the issue of having to think about service history etc...

That said, similar deals were available quite widely - £11k seemed to buy quite a lot of Berlingo from dealers as well...

I LIVE IN NORTH WALES AND DEALER WOULDNT budge on price so I ended up buying from south london and save 4k off the price of a new car. Just had to make a day of visiting london on way. Very enjpyable and money in the pocket.

When we bought our 2 year old one a few months ago we trawled all the local and not so local dealers and although we were looking for a VTR we ended up with an ex mobility low mileage XTR for the same price but we had to travel a few miles from home.
