Pedals and foot room in the Mark 3

I've driven a 2003 Mark 2 Berlingo for about 4 years now, and had never really had an issue with the pedals. I guess something to do with my size 7 feet.
But in the past year I've had a lot problems with my left ankle and am pretty sure it's due to the clutch pedal on the car. My left ankle sometimes makes a clicking sound as I climb stairs, and occasionally has short sharp pains.

Was away working for 5 weeks recently and took my wife's Mercedes with me. Automatic C200.
Had no ankle problems at all in that time.

Now given that we're thinking of getting a new car next year, 8'm wondering if any Mark 3 Berlingo owners could comment on the foot room and the pedal positions in the car. I've never even sat in one, but our car short list is a Berlingo or a 10 year old Mercedes E class estate. We'd like the Mercedes comfort but the Berlingo space, and with small children, I'd hate to give up the sliding doors.

Never really noticed an issue with pedals but certainly comfort on long drives is a vast improvement on mk3. I can drive my current mk3 for hours with no discomfort but on my previous mk2 I tended to get back ache after a while.

Mk3 is possibly the best Ive driven ever
I do a 3hr straight run down to my sisters in somerset and it feels like 3 minutes when I get out.
I wear size 10 industrial boots but havent noticed any problem with the foot pedal space

i never had an issue with the mk1 berlingo pedals but having size 11s i have found like others ive read on here that the pedals in the mk3 are to close together, i often find i press accelerator and brake together, i have to twist my right ankle/foot over to drive it safely, i would have a good test drive and check out if this effects you, ive got used to it driving short journeys but after motorway driving i have to reposition my foot when leaving and joining roads where im braking/changing gears more often

I wear size 12's and had some problems with the pedals in the beginning. Often hit the gas and brake at the same time. Took some getting used to but it is no problem now.

I'd never really noticed a problem with hitting two pedals at once. It's more the issue of somewhere to put the left foot when not on the clutch. No room to the left of the pedal. End up with my foot hovering above it, leading to ankle joint problems.
I'll have to test drive a Mark 3

There is a small 'platform' to the left of the clutch pedal on the Mk 3 which I find quite comfortable to put my foot on.

My mk11 has a little rest for the left foot & I have never had a problem.However the brake/clutch pedal issue still sometimes catches me out.
My brother is getting a mk111 next week & after a cabbie I will report my findings.
