After nearly 8 years and just shy of a quarter of a million miles, my old Multispace has become uneconomic for me to get through the MOT, as my new Berlingo is currently under construction at the factory. Failed the test due to some play/cracked gaiters in the front suspension, so it needs at least one new lower arm and both anti-roll bar drop links.
Obviously with this mileage on a petrol engine people aren't going to be biting my hand off, so the chances are it's going to the local breaker, but I thought I'd let the forum know before the poor old dear gets cut up for scrap. If anybody wants more details, or just wants to cannibalise odd bits off it, send me an email and we can work something out. Located in Slough. I'll stick some pics up if it ever stops raining.

After that mileage she should go out in a blaze of glory-something spectacular, explosive or viking funeral-ish alut:
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

If my brother were still on the shooting estate, it would have been tempting to let everybody have at it with whatever firearms were to hand.

That's a great video. It shows several real world occurrences in about five seconds - the airbag smoke cloud, the pedestrian covering their eyes/ears against reality, the oncoming driver who doesn't brake until metres before impact.

If this is all that is required for the MOT then it really didn't ought to cost that much to repair unless London garage prices are scary. This could provide a cheap car for someone.
I did a similar repair on my sons Focus the other day for about £65 and that was both wishbones, both drop links front and rear, 2 hrs covered it as I work leisurely these days.

Well, a garage fix will be about £200, so taking the scrap value plus the repair plus the retest and then the £210 annual VED, that's going to be about £750 for somebody to get a very high mileage Berlingo on the road, which is more than some taxed & tested ones with much lower mileage are getting on ebay.

Gone, not with a bang but with a whimper, carted off to the knacker's yard on the back of a tranny in worse condition than my blingo

New one (e-HDi 90 EGS6 with all the bells and whistles) is in the country somewhere, but apparently not at my dealer yet, should have it this week.

Sort of sad; it's straighter and shinier than mine.
