Roof Box
#11
We have encountered a problem with the box on the roof.
It makes the Bingo too high!!!
Car parks these days tend to have barriers at 2.0 or 2.2 metres. With the box on the roof we come out at 2.25 metres and can't get into any of the council run car parks in Chelmsford.
Back to the drawing board . . .

Fit some low profile tyres or let a bit of air out Big Grin

(only kidding) We have the same thing round here to keep travellers out as they colonised all the local car parks a few years ago.
So where does this bit go then ?

We use a roof box on our Berlingo and we take a small stepladder with us.
We have 2 bars on the ceiling on the inside of the van and they store on them out of the way. Perfect for us.

on my old vw camper I had a Fiamma bike rack fitted, when I bought my berlingo I then chopped 3" of top bars [ones that fit on to roof of vehical] and fitted to my berlingo. Instead of bikes you can then get a Fiamma bike rack Box which will carry extra luggage. The only downside is rear door will hinge up but in warm weather units that hold door open will slowly let it down with extra weight. Someone needs to hold it up for you. Life is all a compromise. I also used a ladder to get to top of VW cAMPER when canoes were on top.
