[Engine] Fault Code P1351
#1
Fyi,

Fault Code P1351 on my 04 2.0Hdi was generated by causing a block in the Vacuum pipe that is connected to the EGR Valve.

During this fault the car went in Limp-home mode and needed to be reset via the Code reader.

Hi stinky Pete, i have the same code coming up on my car, i am having difficulty starting when cold so i presume it is the glow plugs as the code is related to them.

i also seem to be lacking a bit of power but there is no engine management light on so i am unsure whether it is in limp mode or not has it does rev up to around 4k .

where shouts is this pipe you mentioned and is it a simple job to do as i believe it is worth trying for nowt.

The EGR solenoid can be seen here :-

- it is the one with the blue plug attached. You can just make out the two pipes above the plug.
One leads to the EGR valve which looks like this and connects where circled:-

it is mounted onto the exhaust manifold.

I would normally expect a fault with the EGR system to start with P04

Pics are arse about face.

....together with the mild pickle. I remember my father kept Colman's powder to fix leaks in the Lanchester's radiator - what does the pickle do? Does it have to be lime?:Rolleyes

I think it helps keep the exhaust unblocked? Wink

Of course we are!!Big Grin Big Grin !
It's special for us to see what a real mechanic has on his or her workbench - there might be really special tidbits for us to takeaway from the experience! SmileConfusedalut:
