There is an "advisory" period of grace and this has been extended until the end of the year

What is the function of the of the pressure switch and what effect would a malfunctioning one have??

Is it possible that the switch is malfunctioning if the light is staying off??

Could be, Check the connections on the switch.
This switch has electronics inside it so a bad connection on any of the three wires will cause it to fault.
Next thing to try would be a new switch (pricey) but if you can find someone with lexia or pp2000 it might give you a more accurate fault read. Confusedalut:

An update on this, a mate of mine has a wee device that can put out the light so after putting the light out a few times the issue seems to have corrected it's self and I haven't had an issue for a good while now. So fingers crossed...
