Injector Seals

No4 injector has decided to blow it's seal and is chucking diesel out.......The joys of owning something french!

Anyway, can anyone tell me what the torque settings are for the bolts? As tomorrow I'm gonna remove the injector and replace the seals. It's a 1.6 HDi on a 57 plate.

Have fun, it's not always just a case of "removing" the injector, they are often stuck fast.

I got lucky all the diesel must have softened the carbon round the injector, it had been had a go at before judging by the marks on the top of the injector. I've attached a pic of the top rubber seal next to the new one, copper washer on the injector was a little distorted but not overly, however the plastic insert that sits on top of the rubber seal was shaped like a 50pence piece!

So far so good, no fresh diesel seen! Now apart from a cambelt change hopefully I can get a bit of motoring out of it!

Well done Haza!! At least some thing was relatively easy!
If someone previously tried to remove it and only managed to
disturb it that may have been the cause for the leak.
