egr and intake cleaning

update. on a run (110kmph average) its now doing 48 mpg with abit of 2stroke and millers eco max,

just to rule out s**t in the injectors. (ya ya i know the useless/useful debate but it cant harm)


still havent a chance to do the intake. but my minimum round town now is 40mpg

Has anyone had a go off cleaning the egr and intake. Do they get much blocked up. I know transits are dire for it.

I done a decat two weeks ago and seem to be better power and torque. And went from 36 to 45 mpg

Aiming to do everything I can to improve mpg. Someone mentioned cleaning the maf sensor too

I read your post and i also am engrossed by EGR, P0402 , DTC. Anyway i would not physical touch the MAF sensor as it is partly made from extremely fine wire stretched between 2 posts and the air flow is measured by an upstream and a downstream sensor. So do not use chemical cleaners, but if it is dirty then use only pure water and a gentle blow via a tube from the mouth.
In my other job i was in process control.
