Front Shocks worn out @ 37k miles
#1
Just had our 09 petrol/LPG serviced by supplying dealer and get told the front shocks need replacing. without even thinking i mentioned warranty and they were happy with that. 2 hours later i get a call saying they are NOT covered. Huh oh great. just like the brakes they say are 85% worn that i didnt go ahead with as they want £340 to change them.

Anyone else had these issues yet?

Brakes being 85% worn in 37k miles might not be that surprising if you do lots of stop/start type driving or carry passengers or any weight in the car. It would be interesting to hear from other mk3 owners as to how long theirs have lasted. Having said that, new discs seems to be an easy way of garages bumping up bills these days.

I wouldnt call it rough driving no, i do a 35 mile drive to work along a 3 lane A road. Van has never had any real heavy loads, infact the biggest was 8 bags of sand for 2 miles. altho it does have a scot seats rear conversion and carries 4 people most days. Will be calling and complaining shortly, they were also meant to sort another few minor issues and these havent been done correctly. Sad

Heater iwont blow on feet at all and sounds like a squeek from the power steering pump. they have obviously looked at it but its still doing the same, worse when cold.

We also previously had a MK1, this had done around 200k on the original shocks.

Hi, Guys. It's a factory defect of all B9.
At first I thought that rear shock absorbers going to "die" only in my country because of roads' lack but.... i was wrong.
One solution, as i know, to take shock absorbers from Xsara Picasso N68 and install it in B9.
People tells that there's not enogh distance during movement of a absorber's rod, i.e. shock absorber's rod is very short.
