Whic fuse for drivers window, where is it?
#1
Hi All, Can anyone tell me which fuse controls the drivers electric window on a 2004 mk2 1.6 petrol? And is it located under the control column or in the engine bay?
All help most welcome. Thanks, Liam.

You could try fuse F12 on the BSI board (by the steering column) Maybe on the left at the rear (Third one in from left)

This is from my '06 owner's comic which covers the '05 1.6petrol
If it doesn't apply to your vehicle then I can't help further and
you'll have to hang around 'til someone who does know can reply.
HOWEVER It seems that both windows are fused from the same fuse
and if your passenger window works OK then I would think that the
fault lies with the motor (brushes?) or the wiring to the motor for the
driver's side..

Thanks for that, I think you're right, the fuse seems ok so can only be motor or wiring. Is there an easy way of checking which it is, as you can probably tell I'n not an auto electrician!
Thanks, Liam.

Thanks, Liam.

If you can get an alternate 12volt supply to the motor that would either eliminate the motor or a wiring problem.

This is another very popular problem with mk2 Berlingos, the most likely culprit will be a dry joint in the green relay box located in the drivers footwell underneath the dashboard hidden by the under dash carpet. It controls the one shot drivers window operation. Unplug it and remove the unit, normally vibration makes the joints to the electromagnetic switches break their solder. These can be resoldered. The unit can be bypassed if needs be. New units can be purchased for around 80 pounds plus vat if I can recall.
