What's the maximum revs an '09 1.6HDI 90 BHP can go up to?
The rev gauge doesn't have an orange or red zone..... ;-) and looking at the gauge they grabbed out of the parts bin for mine 7000rpm looks fatal for the engine.
I assume a rev limiter in the ECU stops the whole thing from blowing up.

Is everyone else the same where after 3800-4000 revs it feels like the turbo has run out of steam and you could do it but feels pointless

Very rarely go over 3k!

The 75hdi has its peak torque at 1500 and max power at around 2k Pointless trying to squeeze out more.
Later cars even have a 'polite reminder' light that comes on at 2000rpm

took daughters pug 306 d down the motorway today 3000revs at 70 mph....rarely use more than 2000revs through the gears. most small diesels run out of puff by 4000revs. my know it all stepson spent ages trying to convince me the discovery id bought off fleabay was knackered cos it wouldnt go past 4k revs the one and only time i let him borrow it.
running round the lanes im usually in the 1-2k rev range...only exceed 2k on main roads in 5th gear.
