hi all.new to here but can anybody help

Hi all.i am lee sutherland 27 from scotland and desperate for a little help.i have come across a citroen berlingo van 98 i think that has been lying parked up for 4 years and is cover in a think layer of mould on every inch on the thing also has four burst tyres and back box fallen off.i called the local police and dvla to ask about getting this van for myself as its abandoned and not been taxed or moted since 08.anyway i have now got the vehicle documents in my name and have the van but i have no keys and have no idea what i am going to do with it.i have alot of mechanical experience but dont know what i will have to change on it.if anybody has any ideas please get back to me.many thanks for reading and hope someone can help.

OK, first up you can order the keys off the VIN. A good number of locksmiths can do this for you. That said, the locks wear badly and may have been replaced before...

Sounds like a jetwash first, then a good buff might be in order.

Will there be any problems with the immobiliser.its in quite a state but a weekend with the cutting compound and buff should do.

It may not have much of an immobiliser to worry about. Diesel or petrol?

If you message the VIN to myself or Rustscrat, we can probably tell you what sort of immobiliser it may have. As you can cut keys off the VIN and even obtain immobiliser codes off it, it's not always good practice to publish on an open forum.

Should you have anything approaching a warm day, it's fairly straightforward to prise off the side trim, which makes buffing simpler. Be warned the paint is very thin on the panel edges and also on the texture coated part of the sills.

Thanks for the info addo ill ask around today about the nexia software.fingers crossed i can get this thing started.i was going to go to my mates dads scrap yard on saturday to get a set of locks keys and barrels
