Changing antenna cable.
#1
So, leaking antenna base equals rusted antenna cable and zero reception anywhere. Time to change it, but how? Do i really need to tear down the whole dashboard? Also, is the mk2 2006 berlingo equipped whit any antenna booster or something like that? I've changed the head unit to a Pioneer but read somewhere that i may need a special adapter for the antenna. Thanks in advance Smile

Hi, it's not actually shown here but looks like it will follow the loom (EM02S)down the rh pillar then over the dash board to the radio. Confusedalut:

I put a pioneer unit into my mk1, the end of the antenna cable is different. The original unit had a male connection and the pioneer has a female connection. (Or vice versa) A short piece (10mm?) of bare copper cable inserted does the job. It connects the females together.
Remove the old unit and tie or tape a piece of string to the old cable. Remove the A frame plastic cover beside the windscreen and pull the old cable and string through, the rest is dead easy. Connect the new one and pull the string back through , it'll save a lot of bother guddling behind the dash.
