Roll On Thursday
#1
I can't wait for Thursday, get the Berlingo in the mechanic's. I have had a problem with the power since I bought it 2 month ago. At times I am having to put it into 2nd gear to get up a hill. Today it started jumping about, like a kangaroo. I phoned the AA but before they got to me, it started running ok again. Wish I'd gone for the petrol version now.

Petrol?
I wouldn't.
Nasty, flammable (or is it inflammable?), explosive stuff.
Not sure of the figures, (someone will, though) petrol Berlingo compared to diesel Berlingo, but you would be in a serious minority.
Must be at least 75% Berlingos are diesel? Confusedcratch:

Oh, and good luck sorting your problems.

I agree with j90,diesel is better.Your problem may be just a blocked fuel filter. Why did you put up with it for 2 months? That sort of thing would really p**s me off.

stopped in local sainsburys filling station about 5.30. this afternoon.. all 12 pumps were in constant use ...i always notice whats going on round an about..with the different colour hoses it was easy to see what fuel was being bought. all the time i was there i didnt see anyone fill with petrol, everyone was pumping diesel. there was one or two vans but it was mostly cars. ive not noticed this before , but the filling station i normally use has black hoses on all the pumps so its not so obvious what fuel everyone else is using.

Jumping about like a kangaroo?
Like Skippy,Skippy,Skippy the Bush Kangaroo
The original Citroen C4 advert featured a car that turned into a dancing robot - that was impressive but scary.
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

To answer my own question (no one else has)....
2011
Of all cars on the road in the UK 31% are diesel.
(In 1994 it was 7.4%)
Of all new car sales in 2011 50.6% were diesel.
(First time ever diesel has outsold petrol.)
Can't find any specific data for the Berlingo. Confusedtudy:

For those interested in vehicle data and statistics

Enjoy.

I wonder what proportion of new car sales are to private customers? Under current tax rules nearly all company motors are diesels. That said some of the new crop of low capacity turbo petrols are looking impressive, I've tried a Fiat TwinAir and it was brilliant.

58% of new cars sold in the UK are company cars.

90% of company cars are now diesel.

3.5% of new cars are Citroen.
(Roughly the same as Hyundai and Toyota.)

4.9% of new cars are Peugeot.
(Roughly the same as Mercedes and Nissan.)

Ford sell the most at 13.7%.
(Biggest seller the Fiesta.)

Then Vauxhall at 12.1%.
(Biggest seller the Corsa.)

Lotus are bottom with 0.02% (329 cars).

3 new Daihatsu cars were UK registered.
(They are imports only now.)
Fortunately....
