removing timing belt cover to change rocker cover gasket

hi guys, i have a 2.0hdi with a leaking rocker cover gasket. to change the gasket u need to remove the timing belt cover. But im struggling to get to the cover lowest bolt.
is there an easy way to reach this bolt to remove the cover?

Hi Chris, not sure about an "easy" way but generally if a timing area bolt is being difficult to reach one approach is to put a jack under the sump, and remove the offside top engine mount. Then you raise or lower the motor gently until the bolt or nut is accessible.

Remain wary of the fact your motor is on a jack; don't get under it or place you hand where it may be squashed if the jack slips away.

You may need to undo / loosen the lower engine mount to drop the engine, have a look before doing so just in case my memory fades :whistle:
