You probably would do better to save your money,TBH
the gains possible from re-mapping a non turbo diesel are
extremely limited. However the non-turbo engines run forever!
I think you'll also find that the big names in diesel tuning won't
even quote for a non-turbo diesel.

The engine you have can't really be re-mapped and because it hasn't got a turbo to increase boost on, you'd be hard pushed to notice any difference.
I would just check that your engine is well serviced, filters etc. Also check that your throttle cable. There's a clip that slips over the outer casing of the throttle cable just as it gets to the pump.
If you hold the outer casing of the cable and can pull it back without it moving the throttle arm on the pump, then you won't be getting full throttle when pressing the pedal.

You can turn the max fuel up a quarter turn on the pump and it makes it a bit livelier and generally easier to drive, makes going uphills less painful. Go too far and it'll smoke like hell though so be carefull.
Plenty of online guides about tuning a 306 lucas pump, if you follow them and just ignore the bits about the boost enrichment (as you won't have one on your pump) you should come to no harm.
I have done this to mine and it is definitely better than stock, no racecar or anything, just easier to live with and does no damage to the MPGs, bit better if anything.
