Hi my name is Derek and I have been the owner of a 2008 Berlingo 1.6 600 HDI Enterprise Van with 85000 mile on the clock since Saturday (15/03).
I am seeking advice on a couple of things regarding the 'electrical features' of my van and would welcome any comments or feedback.
The interior lights do not come on when the doors are opened or when the central lokking is activated, they are both working though as I have checked them manually. Also when the ignition key is in the Accessories position the red battery light is on. To open the electric drivers door window the switch has to be held down except when the key is in the accessories position when it works as it should with one touch. I believe (although stand to be corrected) that there is an outside temperature facility which replaces the time on the multi function display although it doesn't show up what would you all advise?
From what I have read these could all indicate that the BSI needs to be reset and I have seen the intructions for this, but I am reluctant to do this as it may cause further problems.
What does resetting the BSI actually do?
I am considering buying a genuine Citroen alarm kit still in it's box from Ebay, would this have any implications with the BSI and are the wiring loom connections likely to be there so all I have to do is plug all the bits in?
