[Engine] ANY USED TERRA CLEAN TO FIX EGR PROBLEMS

Diesels aren't designed for short journeys and town work. Petrols may not be as efficient but short journeys is their forte.

Unfortunately Steve you are spot on diesels have never liked short journeys but the newer ones with EGR and particulate filters hate it.

If all you do is short journeys then it may be best to hold it in 3rd every now and then and give it a good blow out.

Quite correct.... my 1.9D had a fair bit of pottering and plenty of 50 mph on the motorways for a few weeks and then one day I needed to give it the gun and found I was leaving a trail of smoke behind me combined with rough running and misfires ..... a couple of runs at higher than usual revs for a couple of miles and all was well again.

Well had the terra clean done and couldn't believe all the crap that was coming out im still high on fumes. Took just over 1 hour then I took it out for drive and engine light came on and plugged it in and still had the same egr fault however wasnt as sluggish in limp mode and when I deleted it then restarted car it hadn't went straight into limp mode and was awesome to drive it pulled like a ferrari well maybe not exactly like one but felt better than when I bought it last year so definitely a noticeable improvement but looks like my valve is knackered so took it back and asked them to fit one. I just want my car back working normal. So £90 for the terra clean which I think is worth it when u look at prices of all those other sprays u can get as this covers a number of components. Then £110 for egr valve inc fitting plus they lent me a car while its getting done. Cannot fault the service I have got from garage and its first time I've used them but think they have gained a new customer as my usual mobile mechanic of 6 yesrs had too much work on and been waiting 3 weeks for the bugger. Can't wait to get it back tomorrow I reckon it's gonna be a right pocket rocket.

Whip the EGR assemblyoff, then either blank it and leave it off or clean up and replace.

The sensors are in the main the MAF which senses whether the airflow has dropped by the set parameters when the EGR should be functioning.

All sorted. Followed the hose from egr valve all the way round which went to something I'm not sure exactly what it was and the pipe that went from there to the engine bit had been rubbing on the engine cover causing 2 holes letting air out therefore not air right and having an effect. So quick trip to halfords before it shut and got some fuel line hose and it seems to have done the trick hopefully     with the engine cover on it was hard to see but it stands out like a sore thumb in pic
