Interesting Lexia Result
#1
Xsara II arrived at another workshop on the end of a rope. I was called to attend with my Lexia, as the indie there doesn't do electronics very well. 2.0 petrol twin cam with autobox.

Symptoms: No start/run, one blink only on the noid light.
Checked: BSM by substitution, all the usual (plugs, fuel, timing belt), fitted new battery.

Global scan, all good. Said no fault in the engine ECU but wouldn't let me access the fault log ("communication error") - I could view all other aspects of the ECU as normal.

On a hunch, I "cleared" the fault log, even though it was saying no faults found. Punched in the current mileage and everything in the delete process went normally.

Now I could read the fault log - no faults found.

Then it started! I read the running parameters and it had a blown coil on 2/4. New coil and all was good again.

I'm wondering if somehow the dead coil had "jammed" the ECU, as although it stated it was unlocked, it was saying the fuel supply relay was inactive. Perhaps it was expecting the other half of a waveform, which never arrived.

And on a totally, totally, random note I am so going to book tickets for Daft Punk's album launch, which is happening at the agricultural show in a fair dinkum outback town. $35 apiece is too good to miss, even with $160 in return petrol costs...

Some of us older mechs don't fully understand modern electrickery.
I find finding/identifying sensors hurts my head a bit.Confusedalut:Confusedalut:Confusedcratch:

Think I may have a 'Communication' problem with my missus,

Can i use a Lexia to find out whats wrong with her and if so where would I plug it for best results?
Any suggestion will be forwarded to her for retaliation later
