Another botch of fixing things. Got fed up with the "door open" message after trying everything such as losing the wires, cleaning connections, checking for cuts, nothing seems to work. So disabling was the best option. Thanks to user joemc20 he pointed me in the right direction of which wire to cut.

"I have just found out how to bypass the lock mechanism for this problem. i spent a few hours this morning trying to identify which wire sends back the "open door" signal to the dash and not allowing the doors to be locked,
Most lock units have 5 wires (some 6, red being the extra one), Of these 5, 2 are thick, (blue, green) and 3 are thin (green, pink and earth green and yellow), its the thin Green wire your interested in"

Thanks Joe, my central locking works again and no annoying messages appear. I guess it's a matter of time when the other doors start doing this, although this time I know the solution to quickly fixing things.

I was browsing my favorite site http://whitetrashrepairs.com/ laughing at some of the ingenuity people post on there, when suddenly I stumbled on this picture http://whitetrashrepairs.com/white-trash/ghetto-repair/ guess who got featured on WhiteTrashRepairs.......me! hahaha
There has been a few changes undergone on the Berlingo since then, but that photo always puts a smile on my face. The milk bottle is a nice touch

Haha here are some of dem ghetto hardware skills, I was at it again! Forgot I haven't got a horn and had to botch something quickly with whatever I had in hands. It was a love child between old Asus case and some unused arcade switches

Update:

I guess nobody else post in this thread so might as well carry the torch. The CD player is giving up the ghost and I got tired Nero Burning Rom my ass every 21 songs so I was after a cheap 2nd hand mp3 player with USB ports. Lo and Behold my favorite country to the rescue CHINA, lets put Pioneer out of business again. Paid 15gbp for this beauty, reads FLAC, MP3 via SD, USB, 3.5mm jack, Bluetooth, man I wish I did this when I got the van. And I really didn't want to spend more than tenner. Best of all the audio is much louder, more bassy, as if the OEM was under powered and started clipping too soon.
Highly recommended mod !
As for wiring they do sell adaptors but there is often too many variations of them and they cost almost the same as the player. When you want something done right, ghetto wire it yourself. You can use an old trick with a 1,5v battery (size don't matter, just voltage) if speaker pops inwards you've wired it wrong, if it goes outwards then + - are correct

Got a similar radio to yours, but I'm having fun with the random turn on when the doors open, will get round to sorting it soon.

Did you have to mess with reprogramming the BSI when fitting that ^^^ ?

No, there is no coding needed for either the aftermarket or OEM VDO cd player. It's a plug and play. The BSI doesn't need to be touched either. I presume something from Pioneer may come with extra wiring for security features built into the unit but this has none of that. The front doesn't detach either and the best part is nobody will want to steal it.
