I am very excited to find this site! I will be purchasing a Berlingo in Chile later this year, and since these vehicles are not available in US, I was hoping for some advice. I will find the appropriate forum for my questions.

Hi spudzilla, I have had a Berlingo from new. Diesel 2ltr HDI 2004
very good: from what I have heard, HDI is important for fuel econ and quality! Faults experienced are as follows:-32,000 Brake disks- 35000 miles/new alternator-40,000 road spring drivers side-45000 new clutch and cable-65000 (Time belt and early 100,000 service) Belts badly worn -75000 interior seating etc badly worn upholstery (heavy use and badly treated) worn out clutch-90,ooo miles presently in garage for service and brake discs plus new radiator.
I have been from Nottingham to France, Germany Switzerland, Austria, Bulgaria, Rumania and Scandinavia. Travelled Europe several times. Took out the back seats and sleep in the back! Fantastic Motor/Reliable never let me down, First turn of the key in all weathers cheers Paul Nottingham England.

Thanks Paul. I will be using this car to camp in also! The repairs you describe would not concern me terribly, except maybe the broken spring and clutch. Probably be getting a car in the 30,000 to 60000 Mile range. May put a high output alternator in for the electronic goods, and keep the old one for backup. I'm very glad to hear that the engine is reliable, cold starts and turbo issues would worry me. Thanks for the input!
