Trailing arm bearings !
#1
Is it possible to fit grease nipples for a bit of preventative maintainance ? Read a few nightmare stories and it would seem a good option to lubricate them ...
My vans a 2001 and they seem to be in good condition .

Could they be fitted like these reconditioners do

and just pump the entire trailing arm casting full of grease ?
Or is there a hole drilled through the round part of the casting to let the grease get through ?

One of the problems in addition to lack of reliable lubing, is the rollers don't travel far enough to effectively rotate the cage around the pivot shaft. Hence it starts to brinnell, or create little round-bottomed divots which then definedly restrict the bearing cage's movement. It's all over once this process has started.

If your nearside pivot shaft is OK (the rough shoulder always works suspension harder than the median side) then you could theoretically drill and tap for greasing. I'd suggest dirt bike trailing arm grease (waterproof, good temperature range, very tacky).
