I picked up my 2005 2.0Hdi Desire at the weekend but was only given one key - this key is the non-remote type.
So following on from the "Trim Level" thread - can anyone tell me if the Desire trim came with remote central locking as standard?
If not, can it be retro-fitted?

You will have remote locking. I found this
spec sheet which shows what you should have

Thanks Chris,
So should it just be a trip to my local Citroen dealer to get a remote key sorted out?
I imagine they will charge me handsomely for the priviledge!

I have just asked my local dealer about the key as I had to call them anyway.
If you still have the code card (should be in the handbook folder) then £73.90 for the key plus £70.00 for coding (both inc. VAT). If you don't have the code card then add another £24.12 for a replacement code.

Is this the transponder code that is found on the code card?

I guess so. I have got a card with mine but admit that I thought it was for the stereo.

£168!!! :brickwall:
No, I didn't see a code card in the folder so wonder if the £168 cost put off the previous owner from replacing the key.
I'll have to look for a cheaper alternative

Let us know if you find one, they must exist?!
Our key gave up the ghost some time ago and I've not bothered to see about replacing it as I thought it'd be expensive to replace (having had to replace one for a previous car a few years ago).

There are repair kits on
eBay which might be worth a go if you have still got the key?
