What did you learn to drive in?
Or what was the first vehicle you drove (legally, probably).

It was a great car looking back. Cheap to run (1.1), nippy, and only 750 quids! Plus, if anything went wrong mechanically, it was easy and cheap to fix.

In 1986, I learnt in my parent's cars; mum had a Saab 900GLS automatic but my dad was one of about six people that bought an Alfa Romeo Arna like this Confusedillyme:

For those that have never heard of this unfortunate thing, it was a collaboration between Alfa Romeo (who wanted to gain reliability) and Nissan (who wanted a sexier image). Unfortunately the project ended up arse about face, as the car wound up with the boring old body of a Nissan Cherry and the mechanical and electrical bits from Italy (it had Alfasud boxer engine and running gear which was only interesting bit)

First car of my own was a mk.1 Ford Fiesta 1.1L
2005 Berlingo Multispace 1.6i Desire (Iron Grey)

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

Learned in the parents car - 1962 Ford station wagon. 390 cu. in V8 with four barrel carb. Rear tires didn't last long Big Grin
2010 Berlingo Multispace HDi 110 with FAP. Persamos green.

Jim learnt to drive in his fathers 1950 A40 Devon during the summer of 1957 when incidentally due to the previous year's Suez Crisis and the subsequent petrol rationing it was possible to drive a car on a provisional license unaccompanied.

Tracey learnt to drive in a driving school '59 Ford Anglia 105E - she had previously just been a scooterist- yuk!
