rear wiper erratic?
The previous owner had the fuse removed for the rear wiper. I put it back in again.
Now, every time I open a door of the vehicle after the ignition was turned off, the rear wiper comes on by itself wipes 2, 3 times and then stops.
Is that normal?
Is there a way that I can stop this function other than pulling the fuse?
Seems to be crosswired with the cabin lights somehow?

Does the cabin light work correctly?

I would be busy looking under the dash for damaged cabling.

Is this a model with top-hinged rear door?

It's possible that there's damage somewhere in the rear, too.
(There's usually a cabin light somewhere in the rear, and if the wiring to it and the door switches in the back is bundled together with the wires for the wiper motor... )

Just speculating...
doors are side hinged, and the light works normal,-- I don't see any messing around with wires in the back--.
Check the wires in the rubber tubing between the door and the body to see if they are not broken or damaged or shorting out
I tried to narrow it down. The wiper is only set off when I open the drivers door after a good while after it has been closed. the inside light has to be gone off by itself. It does not do it any other circumstances. The ignition is off and the key not in the lock. -- the wiper switch is on 0. So somehow the relais must get an impulse from the door switch. If I cannot find a solution to it, I will simply put a switch in the + wire from the fuse to the relay, or from the relay to the wipers.
Btw, Haynes does not give the color codes of the wires in his diagrams, -- does anyone know which multiplug it is and which color code wire is the + to the rear wiper motors?
Don't pay any attention to the colour of the wires.

From HBoL you can trace the connector and the wiring from the wiper motor to the particular pin number on the connector. It's that which is used for identification, not colour.
Ahh, I see, -- I will try it in the next few days. thanks
Can anyone tell me which pin on which multiplug on the bsi/fusebox is the + wire to the rear wipers?
( it would save me tracing it from the motor back--)
