I just couldn't do it.

Due to a change in circumstances, I no longer need a van, so I've had my eye on a Peugeot 206 1.4 hdi. It's £30 a year tax and 65mpg, so super cheap to run.

Went out in the van today, and realised I just can't part with it, it's in such good condition, in 6 1/2 years and around 100k miles it's never let me down. Needing only service items, a front spring, wiper motor, heater motor and the crank pulley. Pretty good for 100k I reckon?

It's got plenty of poke, good on fuel, reliable and practical. I reckon I'm going to have to keep it until it dies, and even then I'll probably resurrect it.

I've been toying with this very conundrum! If I sell my Berlingo for another vehicle I'll maybe get £4k.
The new vehicle will set me back a further £10-15k.
That would fund an awful lot of repair work on my present car. I like the Mk.2 so much I think I'll be
keeping it and repairing it as and when. The book price will be very low unless the Mk.2s start to appreciate.
But all that is irrelevant when keeping the vehicle. I have a couple of excellent repairers locally.
So the trusty Mk.2 is a keeper....I think.
PS. I really do not like the Mk.3....sorry but it's not for me.

I've spent a little bit of time on it recently, removing the paneling to the rear windows and taking out the full bulkhead, they aren't needed to hide my tools anymore. I gave it a fresh coat of varnish in the back and fitted a 4' long LED light strip in the back to come on when the doors open.

I also gave it a through clean to remove any evidence of it ever been used as a work van, for a nearly 11 year old motor it still looks pretty good.

I'm scouring eBay for some nice new seats now, I narrowly missed out on a full black interior from a 2008 mk2 recently.
