[Engine] Not starting

When you turn your ignition on what illuminates on the dash, eg does the digital mileage come on ? Can you hear a relay click in the Bsi?
If not check you have 12V on both sides of fuse "F" in the bsi in relation to earth. You should be able to probe this with it still in at the metal spots on top of it. What do you get? Do this with ignition off.:thumbsup:
Also do your hazard lights work?

Thanks for the drawing as i didn't know that was the Bsi.
When I turn on ignition nothing illuminates on dash But when I turn on the side lights the digital mileage illuminates.
There is no click in the Bsi.
I have 12.75V to both sides of fuse "F".
and also the hazard lights work.

Just to recap, You say the engine does not turn over with the key.
Is this correct?

Let me know what you are getting on both sides of these fuses in relation to earth and with key out of ignition.

BH28 - F9 and F6. This is the fuse box under the steering wheel.

No the engine dose not turn over with the key.

Fuse box under steering wheel
BH28 - F9 and F6 fuses both have 12.72v

Engine bay fuse box.
BM34 - F12 and F5 fuses both have 12.74v

Ok, lets do the easy one first.
The engine should turn over with the key as there is nothing electronic to stop it. Have a look at the diagram.
Power from the battery goes through F12 then into the ignition switch to the start position then out to the starter solenoid coil.
Check that the main connection on the starter motor has 12V but use the engine as the earth. If no power then do same test but using the battery neg post as the return. If power, then you have a bad engine earth. Also check the solenoid connection from the ignition switch. This will probably be a spade connector.
Let us know what you find. :thumbsup

Hi sorry not got back for a while
but on inspection I found the wiring harness had been rubbing against
the inner wheel arch on the under passenger side front wing and burnt through 5 cables so I've reconnected them and now got engine to turn over but still will not start/ I also have the oil light on/ and airbag light flashing.
