It will tell you in your handbook what weight and noseweight your car is capable of towing. Don't buy a van which is on the limit for your car as you will load another half ton of necessities into it to go away with. All I can recommend is get the lightest van you can find that suits your needs. Have a read through any
related threads on the forum search. I tow a trailer tent with our mk2 and have towed my niece's caravan which is about 1000kg and she tows it with her Pug Partner no problem.
So where does this bit go then ?

We tow a 2002 Eccles Jade 2-berth (MIRO 954kg) and that tows ok. Don't expect to go blasting off the line but will go all day in 4th and 5th...

Good grief. Isn't that van almost big enough to park the Berlingo inside?

I tow an eriba pan, and its fantastic, pulls great, 35 mpg minimum, up to 45 at 60 on cruise control on motorway. really pleased.
i previously towed a freedom Jetstream , again nice and light. In fact the model I owned is now up for sale again. 2 berth with toilet room, sink, cooker etc at rear end.

My worst mpg was whilst towing, 36MPG, earlier this year.
Not sure why it dropped as will usually do 40 - 44MPG with caravan behind.
Don't get much more than that around town.

Headwind? Could be?
Was at Easter when the British Bank Holiday was just recovering from the snow!
Don't remember the wind, just the -6 to -10c at night!
