oil again
sorry guys as i know this has been done to death but the lingo is going in for cam belt kit ,water pump and aux belt on monday.when i get it back i want to give it a filter and oil change im still a bit confused on what is the best oil (as i want something good) so is Total Quartz Ineo ECS 5W30 Engine Oil. up there with the best ones. its for a 2004 2.0 hdi. many thanks.
I run my 2005 2.0 hdi on 5/40 fully, I was recommended this by a Citroën specialists , but as previous posts it's a mine field !
It is a mine field and it depends who you ask to be honest!

But in the 2.0hdi 5/30 or 5/40 will be fine, I have a relay with a 2.0hdi in and I do run that on 5/40 but my Berlingo has a 1.6hdi in so I do run that on 5/30.

My mate who works for Citroen says they put 5/30 in everything in for service now so its up to you but you wont do any harm with ether.
The oil you mentioned in the first post is for the latest cars with a DPF filter. This is unnecessary in your 2.0 hdi, as it has no DPF.
A decent quality 5/30 or even 10/40 will be fine in this engine.
In the days when all our servicing work was on the 2.0 hdi engines, we used 10/40 synthetic in them all, now we use 5/30. The 2.0 is an old unit by today's standards, and is not that fussy.[/i]
ok lads thanks for the help.
