Yesterday my wife said to me she'd give me £70 worth of petrol for my old Land Rover - result !
However such boundless generosity had to come at a price .....
She told me the petrol was inside my Citroen 1.9D Berlingo van ......
Three hours of tank emptying, refilling, and system bleeding had it all running again and all seems well again, Phew...... for now anyway....
What a way to spend Christmas eve afternoon...
Merry Christmas to one and all and here's hoping nobody gets you the same present as me.
Geoff.

I had a close call last month put 80p worth of unleaded in the van, when I looked down at the pump handle and realised I let an almighty roar. The people filling up next to me ears are still ringing.

I managed to put £38 worth of unleaded in mine last year before I realised. Didn't start it, had my wallet emptied by the AA to drain it.
What's particularly annoying is that the insert on the body-coloured fuel cap is green. I have no idea why I put unleaded instead of diesel, I'd had the car nearly a year by then.
My wife gave me the same as I gave her for Christmas. Absolutely nothing.

I put petrol in my diesel berlingo a few years ago, the rac towed me to my local garage but insisted they contact citroen as car under warranty. Citroen said bring it to them for complete drain, etc, told them naff of... we argued and they agreed with my rights to choose wher eit was drained, only concession to continue warranty was a genuine filter had to be fitted. Bastards these manufacturers, beware....

The old Gal gave me a super multi purpose LED torch. It's in the garage with the other dozen I have.A tin of polish would have been better received.
