#1
I carry an electric wheechair + hoist in the boot of my XTR 1.6.It wieghs about 15-16 stone. do I need to up the presure on the rear tyres. The extra weight certainly holds it steady in a high wind

Your recommended tyre pressures should be on a label on the drivers side door frame. ( 'A' pillar )
I think when carrying a weight like that you should certainly be running with increased pressure.

I run my van at 36psi wether full or empty, tyres wear nicely across the entire width.

As usual there is a website for that.
Just input your reg. no.

Even though those pressures correspond to the sticker on the 'A' pillar, my local tyre fitter recommends 34psi in the rear, as I carry no weight. I only put 36psi when towing.

Website is useless for my 2.0HDi Multispace 2004 model. It says 165 width tyres at 36psi.

The A-pillar sticker states 185 width tyres, and 2.3 bar (33.5) PSI all round and 2.5 at the rear if fully loaded.

Is this a professional conversion Henry? If so I wonder if they changed the tyres size at all from standard in which case the door jamb sticker may not be 100%

The car has a hoist to lift the chair , It doesn,t have a ramp , so not a conversion .
