1.6hdi Front Heat Shield
Hey guys, attempted to remove the filter mesh (Bango Bolt)in the oil return pipe going to the turbo today. But couldn't remove the heat shield loosened all the bolts but there's just not enough room to take it out without removing the radiator so ive left it for another day. Anyone else removed all the heat shield without removing the rad?
It does come out (mk2) with the radiator in place, you just need to remove the ducting between the turbo and intercooler. I put a piece of 2mm hardboard between the radiator and the cowling as it is a very tight fit and at times will press hard against the radiator. (it comes out upwards)

good luck

Ahh right, yeah (mk2) i didn't remove the plastic ducting between the turbo and intercooler and was trying to get the heatshield out the bottom my bad, Wish i asked before hand now!
I must add - mine is a MK2 without DPF and could only remove the front part of the shield. It is a very tight fit and it would not surprise me in the least if on some variants it was too tight to get out. (if the engine to radiator gap was 5mm shorter there would be no chance)
Also be very careful with the turbo feed pipe, at times the heat shield presses hard against this, and buggering this could prove very costly.

Not sure if my berlingo is without the DPF aswel, thanks for the tips im going to try and be as careful as i can and not damage anything just to do a simple job to remove that filter in the oil feed bango bolt.
