my opinion of the mk3- useless cup holders
#1
Thumbs Up
hi
Had my new Peugeot partner "professional" a few weeks now, upgraded from a 2010 1.3hdi Nemo

so my comparison of the two so far

Door pockets shallower
Glovebox smaller/unusable
Cup holders crap
Overhead storage not much cop either lol

My biggest let down is the cup holders being utterly pointless Sad has anyone done any mods to make these any deeper etc? Mine has the 3rd seat so its the floor ones I would use (why are the door ones even there lol)

But can't grumble about the build/drive comfort you knew you were in a van with the nemo and it rattled like one as well. The partner is far superior in that respect

Fuel economy is also better!, memo was always underpowered when loaded. The partner can take a load and still be fairly nippy

Having lived with a Xtr spec Berlingo for 15 months, The glovebox is indeed rubbish as are the cupholders in the doors, Why are they there Crap idea. Door pockets are not too bad as is the box in between the seats which also holds the cup holder in mine.
There are also two behind the box but really only any good for cans.

The shelf above the windscreen is ok I find, Holds my timesheet book, Keys etc surprising what's up there.
Plus I have under seat storage as well which is where my 12" adjustables live.

I bought one of these and thought it was poor quality and the draws are hard to open.It also doesn't have a slight curve on it like the storage tray it replaces,so the fit is not perfect.I didn't bother to fit it in the end.

I cant find it now but I think on polish or german berlingo site they modded an alfa 147 cup holder, its a little bit to wide so needs trimming but the curve is spot on

Whoever designed those floor mounted cup holders have clearly never tried to use them Confusedcratch:

I have been looking for a suitable replacement on ebay etc .

My van has the fold down middle seat too and I use that as an arm rest mostly so Im thinking of fitting a cup holder to the back of the seat ......

The search continues ......Confusedalut:

To me the cupholders are just one more item on the "WTF were they thinking at Citroen?" list!

I don't smoke, so removed the beautifully designed "ashtray" (small plastic lidded tub!), which came shoved into the left cupholder on my new van.

That left me with 2 useless cupholders, which have so far failed to hold anything at all. I removed the cigarette lighter plug to use the socket, so temporarily put that in the cupholder. Drove over a bump and it jumped out and vanished into Narnia (the space under the 3 front seats you can't really get to, which now has claimed the plug, an allen key, a Dentist's appointment card and about £3 in coins). Confusedcratch:

Maybe the next version of the van will just have two holes cut through the floorpan and carpet instead. Thus saving Citroen money to use on devising plastic trim clips with even sharper edges…… or non-clogging turbo oil feed filters…… or heaven knows what…. :justno:
Good judgement comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgement…
