Hi everyone, just thought I'd say hello.
I've had a dark blue November 2000/X registered Berlingo 1.9D van as my company vehicle for the last 10 years or so. My brother in law (also my boss) bought it new and passed it on to me after it was 3 years old.
It's in immaculate condition for a van with just a dented rear door letting it down - not my doing! It has no rust at all and I just love it!
The best things about it are it's excellent handling and road holding combined with very comfortable ride. I find the seats and driving position great too plus it's fairly quiet for an old tech diesel van.
It's been very reliable too and returns pretty good economy.
On the downside it ain't exactly quick out on faster open roads. However it's ok around town which is where I drive it most of the time.
Citroen must have shaved a couple of quid off the build price by using poor quality door locks, 'cause the drivers door lock got so worn out that a complete new set of external locks were fitted about 6 years ago and now the replacements have now worn out (just the drivers door again) so I'm in the process of fitting a Hawk remote central locking kit to it.
I've fitted a half decent Panasonic RDS/CD head unit and I've got a set of Pioneer component speakers to replace the originals that died. Also fitted a interior light delay unit, all helps to bring it up to date spec wise.
I've just ordered some Osram Night Breaker Plus headlamp bulbs and some white LED sidelight and interior bulbs too to improve things.
I can't do much else as it's owned by our company, so no changing wheels or anything fancy.
I would put some pics up but I'm useless with computers. If you see me about give us a wave (preferably no rude gestures please) or a beep. Dark blue X plate van with silver KTB Engineering sign writing.
Thanks all.
Cheers,
Richard.
