am I missing something, it took me longer to get into the stupid plastic packaging than to do the full bulb change, don't look, feel!! that's how mechanics do stuff, by touch.. and be gentle

Berlingo is certainly one of the easier cars to change headlamp bulb. All that is required is removal of rubber caps on backs of headlamps & nothing else. The clip is fiddly though & it is important to understand how it is undone as attempts to force it in wrong direction may well break it. Once this is figured out the the job takes only minutes from start to finish. The pictures clearly illustrate how clip is undone.

Thanks for that. I managed the O/S okay a while back but found the access so much more restricted for the N/S. It was awkward even to grip and rotate the N/S rear plastic cover, which I was able to do, so trying to get get my hand inside to change the bulb without creating some access space seemed like an exercise in sadism! I thought I' might be able to get the old bulb out but I wasn't at all sure I'd be able to refit the springs to get the new one in. My Citroen garage did it for me the next day free of fitting charge but I'd like to be able to do it next time for convenience. However I won't be practising until it goes again!
By the way, I'm confused about the model numbers but mine must be a late Mk1 (registered 2007 with the 2002 facelift) - I don't know how that affects the issue.

On point ..... Why does my van (b9) eat dipped headlight globes...
Not one a year, more like 6 pairs in a year...
Tried cheap and expensive ones and they still blow...
To be fair I drive with lamps on all the time but fml I might need to invest in shares of globe makers..
Is it a poor earthing system?
First car I have owned that I have changed globes more than oil filters....

Brought the van a year ago and have done 30,000 km... Lights on all the time plus stationary traffic joy hours...
Still my 1997 wrx was similar km and only one globe.....
And my 2006 Berlingo only did one set in three years of ownership...
