Just got back from the Southern Vendee in the Picasso 20 hdi. Had a wonderful time and with the Picasso loaded to the gunnells it averaged about 50 mpg including sitting at 80-85 mph on the toll roads.

We took our previous Berlingo on holiday several times. It was an ideal vehicle for motoring holidays. However, we just used it for holidays in Britain and Ireland. When we go to the continent on holiday, we always fly and hire a car*. If you live in the North of Scotland, and you want to get to the Med, driving takes too long.
We plan to take our current Berlingo on holiday next month. Our chosen exotic destination is . . . England.
*Last year we managed to hire a Berlingo Mk III in France, and it was great to be able to have such an extended test drive in it - even if the conclusion that we came to was that we really preferred the Mk I & Mk II.

Hi Chris, we are going down to Limoges area first then across into the Dordogne, ain't decided which campsite yet & then to Montalivet on the SW coast just north of Bordeaux.
Have you been to Montalivet before?

Just returned from Germany/2000 miles.Went from Dunkirque(please note I can spell it a la frog) to Dresden, then to Nurnburg,Munich,N to the Auto/technic museum at Sinsheim(WELL worth a visit).Back to dunkirque.Filled up at Malmedy near German border & again at Gloucester having done 460 milles on 30 litres. This was normal speeds & I am greatly chuffed. It goes great on the German Autobahns(got indicated 130 mph,& rock steady).Steady throttle & light braking is the secret. This was my third trip to Europe in 3 years & would recommend the Berlingo every time.
