So, what sort of stuff should one use to wash and wax ?
Having only just got my first Berlingo it is still shiny in that showroom sort of way despite being 3 years old and it might be good to try to keep it looking good for a while so any advice ?

How much time and money do you want to spend snow foam /clay/polish/wax/sealer/ there's some good water less cleaner's with carnauba wax in and use sealer after to make it last longer

I have no idea - I have never bought or used any sort of cleaner - I did use a bucket of water and some fairy liquid on my last car once and it never seemed to look dirty to me from that day onwards....!

I guess I don't want to spend too many hours nor do I want to do it too often - as for money, the cheaper the better. Guess I'll be lucky to get two out of three at best.

Fairy Don't mention fairy's when ron's about .He's often away with them. It's good for taking wax off not so good for the paint.
Use some was & wax then wipe it down then wax it with some sort of average wax of your choice leave for two hour's then put a sealer on like Turtle wax platinum series extra gloss this should last a good 6 months then repeat you can use wash & wax in between if you wanted to ?

Thank you Jed - I'll follow your advice as soon as we get a dry day....!

As you may be able to tell, I am not a big car cleaner, but do know that Fairy is not the best product to use on a car - the car in question was 16 years old at the time though !

I want to try to look after this car so will try harder and will go to Halfords to see if I can find wash and wax in the next day or two, or is it better to buy it elsewhere ?
