Loud *CLACK* from rear
#1
Just recently the Mk1 Blingo multispace forte 1.9d has been emitting a very loud CLACK sort of sound when going over bumps, not a spring sound like the compensator arm but a clack like something is hitting the floor pan or the rear side of the metal body. Looked underneath but no obvious signs of anything? Can sometimes feel the knock through the floor. Suspension is sitting A1, no dropping or sagging on either side. Car rides fine apart from this noise! It seems to be coming from the offside rear somewhere. Any clues??? :brickwall:

Thats what I thought at first but thinking about it that would knock on all movement. My missus has just taken the car to Aintree and she reports that it hardly made any noise all the way (2 and a half hour drive) Its just when you get back to driving on potholey Lincolnshire back roads that it starts up again.
I did look at the rubbers on the shox and although they are a bit perished they seem to be ok.

How is the backbox mounts? Are they both connected? Ring nice and tight? Can you simulate it while jumping on the back of the van?

Backbox mounts are fine, thats what the missus thought it may be. No movement on they buggers at all. Jumping in the tailgate produces no noise whatsoever except from the missus "Can I f***in' stop now?" Big Grin

^^^This^^^

If not then noises I have had have been caused by the wheel brace not being in it's holder correctly and worn ARB drop links.
