Oil Filter Housing
#1
Hi all,

I'm back with another little problem or two as the case may be.

My first problem that needs solving is this.

I have just discovered that my overworked Berlingo has got itself an oil leak. The leak is coming from the mating surface of the oil filter housing that joins to the engine just above the sump.

This housing is attached by 3 size 10 bolts and has the oil sensor.

Now what I need to know is this, does the housing have a gasket between the head and housing surfaces or is it bolted straight onto the head without one. The oil appears to be leaking from the top part where it is attached, I do not think it is a crack in the housing. If there is no gasket how do I stop this leak, I have tightened the bolts a little more but do not want to over tighten them, or do I need to acquire a new housing & if so who sells them.

My second problem is this,

I am trying to source a diagnostic O2 sensor (post CAT, Downstream Lambda sensor) but I am having difficulty finding one. The sensor I have in at the moment has the following part No. 9636968380

So if anyone has any idea where I can purchase this then please let me know.

Much thanks, Pitpan

The housing you refer to is presumably on a tu engined car, this housing represents where the oil filter used to fit when the car had an under floor cat or non at all.
The housing is sealed by a couple of O rings, and is a common source of leaks. From memory the little kit of seals is quite expensive, ie @£20.

Thanks Lighty,

My van is a KFX engine 1.4i 2001model so if you know who sells the seals it would be helpful
