Engine woes!
#1
Hi guys.Need some advice please!
I have a 2007 1.6HDi Berlingo van. Yesterday I put a con rod through the block! I need a new engine, and while there are plenty out there, I'm unsure what will fit. My current, dead engine is a 9HX variant. I've been looking at a low mileage 2.0HDi with associated gearbox for not a lot of money but will it fit? And what about the 1.9td version? Will there be any modifications involved for either of these engines?
Thanks in anticipation...

You really need to replace it with another 1.6,unless you are hot with electrics etc.I would try GSF for a recon eng price. That will give you a start line.Good luck.:thumbsup:Confusedalut:

Thanks Ron,
Appreciate the advice. I've been talking to various mechanical types today and they all concur. They talk about engine mounts, radiators, gearboxes, electrics, ECUs etc. so I think I'll take your advice & stick with a replacement 9XH.
I'll give GSF a try.
Many thanks again.

Try and find one with some good service history and if you can see it running all the better good luck
