That is amazing, I had the exact same problem about two months ago when I did a (long overdue) change of both drive belts. It's been "squeaking" a bit ever since, so I'll try your method.

Right! Got the damn thing off, but not without breaking it into two parts which allowed me to twist each one off with a pair of long nose pliers. Now all I have to do is locate a replacement and hope ... |

Eventually someone pointed out that I shouldn't tickle the accele... |
